Great coffee and great leadership don’t happen by accident.
You don’t just wake up one day with deep influence in people’s lives—it’s built over time through intentional choices.
GiANT’s Circles of Influence tool helps us see where we’re investing and whether we’re leading on purpose or just reacting to life.
Picture five concentric circles:
Self – How you lead yourself (mindset, habits, growth).
Family – Your closest relationships (spouse, kids, inner circle).
Team – Those you work with daily (employees, colleagues, business partners).
Organization – The broader system you contribute to (company, church, or group you serve).
Community – The larger world you impact (customers, city, industry).
Most of us want to make a difference in our organization or community, but we can’t lead well out there if we don’t start in here. Influence flows outward—if we neglect self-leadership, our impact in other areas will be inconsistent or shallow.
Challenge for the Week:
Which circle needs more intentionality from you right now? Where have you been accidental instead of intentional?
Action Step:
Pick one circle and invest in it this week. If it’s self, commit to a discipline (reading, exercise, prayer). If it’s family, create an unhurried moment of connection. If it’s team, give specific encouragement. Small, intentional actions ripple outward.
Leadership isn’t about control—it’s about influence. And influence starts with what we choose to do today.
